Persons gaining this qualification will know that health and safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, its contractors, visitors and suppliers. Its subject areas are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace.

Aims and Objectives
Aims
To increase the students’ knowledge & understanding of Health & Safety procedures within their workplace role and to lessen the risk of injury to self and service users.
Objectives
Students will be able to Identify & describe;
- The roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- How risk assessments contribute to health and safety
- How to identify and control the risks from common workplace hazards
- Know the procedures for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace
Level 2
The HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace has been accredited by the regulators* of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). *The regulators are Ofqual in England, DCELLS in Wales and CCEA in Northern Ireland.
It is supported by Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for the process and manufacturing sector.
This programme is accredited by Highfield – HABC
This program has a 30 question multiple choice examination at the end which is marked externally by HABC.
